Back up and running
The site's back up after a few days of technical work. I haven't posted for a while due to christmas business and some technical problems.
I didn't get many miles in over the Christmas weekend but managed to stave off the guilt by going out running a few times. I only ever run in the winter as a way off getting in some excercise during the short days that tend to limit excercise time. The problem is every year I have to slowly retrain my body to running, something I suspect will soon get more difficult each year. I have to start with a period of slow sessions to get my knees and hips used to the impact and I usually endure a few days of very sore muscles at the beginning. It is a welcome alternative to the indoor trainer though.

Speaking of off-season exercise, I'm off to the Tetra mountains in January, I was thinking of giving cross country skiing a go, if I have skied downhilll before do you reckon I'll need any lessons?

I would highly recommend cross country skiing as a great, great, great way to exercise. Especially for us cyclists. If you just use the classical style and what we call "diagonal" walking, you should be ok without lessons. It's all about coordination between hands and feet and weight distribution.
