Just about Flying Scotsman

Despite numerous setbacks, the long awaited film version of Graeme Obree's book seems to be getting closer to the screen. Towards the end of the year there were more problems for the production but apparently these should not affect the release [ article at Scottish Cycling ]. Chris Boardman is being played by an actor called Adrian Smith but I can't find any further information on him at them moment.

Comments:

That movie has potential, yeah? It's much more than a story about a bike-rider.

Definitely, although in trying to appeal to a wider audience I am worried they may polish his story to the point that it fails to grip the essence of his book. His image as a quirky outsider whose bike was made from washing machine parts has done him no favours. It would be good to see the film set the record straight, even if it does deal with some quite dark material.

Adam Smith is a real nice chap and really quite looks like Boardman but he is rather more interesting! If i remeber corectly, this is his first film but he has done stage stuff. Can ride the track really well. The chap who is playing Graham - whose name escapes me - looks so like Obree that Doug Daily thought it was him when he saw him training at the Velodrome.

Adrian Smith looks just like Chris Boardman its so uncanny, his acting career has spanned 20 years plus, starting with appearing in plays directed by his parents, and then moving up and up - well done.
