Decorating

[ posted by iain Wednesday, April 28, 2004 ] Inspired by Cerysmatic and in anticipation/celebration of the upcoming Giro I decided to put together a few wallpapers for anyone interested. [ no longer available ]. I've had a few queries about the design of herneweb recently, so here's a brief summary of its development. It started as development project to learn some PHP but grew enough to warrant publishing after a visit to Italy for the Giro. All the design work is home-grown with some invaluable input from friends and family (thanks Phill, John B, John C). The code behind most of the site (forum, photo gallery and features) is also home written PHP. The diary entries are driven by Blogger, I know some bloggers are a bit snobby about Blogger now but it fits the job perfectly for herneweb.

Recommencement

[ posted by iain Monday, April 26, 2004 ] Contrary to what the time since the last entry may indicate, I was not so overwhelmed by Pantanis death that I couldn't write any longer, I have just been tied up with other matters. However, due to a recent flurry of correspondence through the site I am making an effort to get things up to date. Loads has happened since the last entry, Cofidis have fallen into disarray, Rebellin has astounded in the Classics and Armstrong has shown once again that his Tour preparations are impeccable. Alas, Ullrich has also shown his usual consistency in his winter preparation.
