How long is Millar's time?

David Millar's appeal hearing is over and the press are reporting he has around two weeks to wait for the verdict. His web site forum [
itsmillartime ] is busy with the toing and froing of the doping debate and the extent of his guilt in the wake of his admission. I don't really care now about the level of guilt Millar should or should not have to answer to. He's been caught cheating in a sport with a now well-published history of similar offences and should be treated no differently to the rest. I don't like the principle of turning a blind eye to doping, but equally, why should Millar be treated differently to the others who have received lenient sentences and returned to race from their bans prematurely. What surprises me is when people claim he should be treated differently because he has admitted his guilt. Had the Cofidis investigation been slightly less thorough and not ended up in Millar's flat I'm sure he would not have decided to go back on his original statement that there was no story to be told and a few riders were simply out on vendettas. If he manages to reduce his sentence then so be it and I hope he can continue to achieve results equal to the potential of his talent with a clearer conscience.
Giro d'Italia 2005

The Giro route has been officially launched and Gazzetta dello Sport have published their usual web site accompaniment here [
Giro d'Italia 2005 ]. Italian and French translation only this year, they may still be working on the English version.
Looks like a great course with one of the highlights being the
Stelvio. This should certainly sort out the Cunegos from the Simonis.
