Last outing of the year
Looking for a change of scenery for the last ride of the year a couple of us took an early morning drive down to the New Forest to ride the bike leg of the New Forest Triathlon route. What started as a light breeze in and around the forest soon turned into a really nasty wind on the open moorland; great as a tailwind but caused havoc from all other directions.
In an effort to avoid yesterday's puncturefest I changed to my other wheels which had a newer pair of tyres. Sadly the plan backfired as the deep rim of the Flash-Points made the handling more than a little twitchy in wind.
It was a good ride all the same, the roads around the New Forest are perfect for fast paced rides. I can't wait to get back there in the new year to give the course another go when the weather improves.
Happy Cycling New Year!
