First vote (and rant) of 2007
70% of you voted with Eric Zabel, who is in favour of seeing Jan Ullrich return to the peloton.
To be honest I am beginning to stop caring myself. Not about Ullrich in particular but about all the legal cases, arguments and finger pointing that's going on at the moment. Ok, it's the off season and without races the news pages have to be filled; but the long, drawn out proceedings of all the enquiries, legal cases and spats between the race organisations are really getting tedious. Can't the authorities set limits on the period between cases being opened and them going to arbitration hearings. It doesn't do anyone any favours to have stories like the Landis case floating around in the news well into the beginning of the next season. In all likelihood we will know who the winner of the 2007 Tour is before we know who won in 2006.
Bring on the Spring Classics so we can start enjoying the racing again.
I was watching the "The Official History of the Tour de France" DVD earlier so the new vote is a related question. Should Richard Virenque be considered amongst the great Tour climbers?

If climate change hadn't melted the UK's four seasons into one long, grey year, I would like to be returning from a day of cross-country skiing.
With no cycling on TV until the Spring classics I have been really enjoying the cross country skiing and biathlon coverage. It looks to me to be the closest sport you can get to cycling in terms of the physiological demands.
I've heard that a number of cyclists use cross-country skiing as off-season training; I wonder if skiers use cycling for the same purpose?
As it is, we had to put up with another grey and breezy day for today's ride.
